What We Did This Weekend

We spent all weekend at our local dog shows. Turned out to be a very nice weekend. Rain was in the forecast, but all we had Saturday were clouds. The weather was perfect for all the dogs and the humans. Sunday, clear blue sky, with just a light cool breeze. We couldn't ask for better weather. Below are a few of my favorite random photos I took of the weekend.

German Shepherd competing in Rally obedience
Newfoundland showing in conformation
Isn't he just gorgeous!
Doberman competing in Utility Obedience.
Border Collie in Agility.
Scenery
Golden Retriever competing in Open Obedience.
Australian Shepherd in Agility.
Burmese Mtn Dog and Flat Coat Retriever in Sit stays in Obedience .
Belgian Tervuren in Agility.
German Shepherd Dog in Novice Obedience.
Australian Shepherd in Agility.
Group sit stays in Obedience.
Yellow Labrador in Agility
Belgian Tervuren in Agility on the teeter.
Scenery
Shetland Sheepdog in Agility
We had a really nice time visiting with all of our friends, and discussing dog club news, upcoming events, and just relaxing. There is nothing more relaxing then spending the day at a show among our human and canine friends.

Great pictures - looks like a great day at the shows! Sometimes I miss competing in obedience - I never competed with L because there's just too much potential for his worm phobia to mess up the heeling exercises. It doesn't often mess up agility because he's moving too fast, but when he's just trotting along, he can't step anywhere that a worm has been. Or where anyone has peed or pooped in the last few days. Makes for some interesting footwork on the heeling exercises, with hops, skips, leaps, bobs and weaves as he avoids all the smells.

Maybe I will get back into it with B.

T,
Sounds and looks like you had a great time. I watch them on TV but have never been to one in person. I'm always amazed how they train those dogs.

DG, I had to laugh at L's worm phobia:))

Mary Elizabeth...(aka Liz)...and I loved your pictures. They are great!

How I wish you could come to my house and help out with our Lab. She is a year old and so full of life and just happy to be! She tries to be good but it is soooooo very hard for her.......I wonder if she would have one anything at the dog show? Maybe happiest dog with ADD;)

One of the things I miss, living so far out, in the boonies, is "dog" people, matches and trials, hopefully, when I go home for a visit this summer I will be able to catch up with some old friends and get to a trial or something... I love watching dogs and their people work!!!

That looks like a great weekend. How neat and amazing dogs. Mom likes learning about dogs by watching others work with their dogs.

Me- I'm happy your back and belly up.

I'm glad you had a good time at the show. I used to enjoy Schutzhund shows when I had my first GSD, but have not had the time to get Gundo involved in any,

This looks like so much fun. I so want another dog. Ours passed after a bout of cancer. He was only 7 and he was my baby! It has been two years and I think that I am about ready!

Wow! T

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I think you have really made my day. I am new to this blogging and writing thing and your encouragement really is appreciated. AND your husband liked it too. Thank you both;)

We have a lot in common, my education was in early childhood...You and the Mare are so right...It is our job as parents to protect. Funny how animals know these simple things sometimes better then us "humans".

Have a great day!

Hey T, Thanks for stopping by :)

Cool - I haven't been to a dog show in ages. I'm always so impressed with what they can learn and do!
