Handsome Jake

Who can resist that magnificent face!
Here kitty, kitty, come a little closer, mama told me to stay.
Jake is such an awesome boy, If he wasn't so obedient and always wanting to please us, he would chase the cats in a heartbeat. Three ferals were wrestling just 10 feet away from him in the above picture. He sure does put up with a lot, but he always make us proud.

I really must get busy taking more pictures of Jake. I don't think he cares much that my blog is being taken over by cats. Of course, he wouldn't mind if I was posting about him catching one, or about the other night when we brought Lacee into the living room to sit on the sofa with us, and he was awakened by the sweet sounds of a kitten meow. He thought he was dreaming again, but upon opening his eyes, there was Lacee just 2 feet in front of him on the sofa with us. He was very excited, to think we finally gave in and was giving him his very own kitty.

Wish I would have taken a picture, his expression was priceless. Maybe next time.

And finally you made me SMILE!!!! Thank you!! Jake has a very sweet face. He is a beautiful dog!
Don't you think he would get along fine with a cat? You know ours do. They really are great friends.

(Oh and have you been over to Suldog's place yet? He has the funniest post ever.)

I love German Shepherds. If I ever get to have lots and lots of acreage ... like the other half of Montana that Ted what'shisname doesn't have, then I'm getting one. Oh. Turner.

I will live vicariously through you on this one. :)

Thanks for visiting my blog post about dingbat Zoe being read to.

Jake is gorgeous; I'm very partial to shepherds. That is so wonderful that you were part of the reading program - I know all about it and would LOVE to get involved. Maybe I'll just look into it since I have the time now - hmmmm...

I love my GSD too. And Jake is sooo handsome. Now how do I get Baron to stop chasing Simba across the living room and getting both he and I into big trouble all the time?

Jake is handsome, does he want to eat the kitty or just play?

Thanks everyone!

Jake does NOT want to play with the cats, unfortunately he has a very strong prey drive, and when he first came to us at 8 months old, he wanted to eat the cats. We worked and worked with him through the years, and that was one thing we just couldn't fix. The good thing is, he is obedient enough to not chase if I am out watching him, but the minute I were to turn my back, I know he could and most likely would hurt one. He gets very worked up with them, even at almost 11 years old.

Ahhhh.. Shaun Cassidy! I did a google search for him and he doesn't look quite as hot as he used to [although I can't throw stones!}. He has been active as a director/producer, and has had quite a few marriages as well. He is still cute in an older kinda way, wink wink!
