Ice Skating

Here is the most recent video of my niece ice skating.
This is the Extemporaneous Improvisation Pre-Preliminary at Showcase 2009. She is 8 years old. The music for Extemp Improvisation is not revealed to the skaters until half an hour prior to competing. The skaters must then choreograph their own routine without assistance from anyone, including their coach.

She makes us so very proud.

If you want to view her other video's you can see them here.

What a graceful skater she is! But the best part is how well she interpreted the music. And with only 30 minutes to prepare!

Oh, my gosh! She is adorable and did a fantastic job with her choreography and skating! I am so impressed...there aren't enough words! Her little actions matched the music perfectly! She reminds me of Nadia Comaneche with her little hand flip at the end...I'm keeping my eyes on her...she is going FAR! Thanks so much for sharing this delightful video!

(Yes, I know I used nothing but exclamations points...how else can I get across how great I think she is?)

If there's one thing I always wanted to be in life it was to be graceful. I'm such a clutz. And I live through these ice skaters who do it so well. Eight year old? I see a fantastic future if she keeps it up.

Thanks for sharing! Very composed young lady. I can't believe she just choreographed it 30 minutes beforehand. I could have given her a few suggestions, my famous roaching spins. What do you think? I can see why you r very proud.
